BROXTED PARISH COUNCIL

Stansted Airport Expansion

In common with almost everybody in the area Broxted Parish Council was shocked and angered by the suggestion that Stansted Airport might be enlarged to 129 m.p.p.a. by the addition of up to three runways. This, together with the proposed new link road to the M11, is totally unacceptable, and the Council has joined the campaign to ensure that it cannot happen. A public meeting was called for 21st August to discuss the issues and to update villagers on the campaign. The Council's view is that 15 m.p.p.a. must be the limit for the airport. Remember, the Council now has its own web-site, and up-to-date information is posted on it. Visit www.broxted.org

Rubbish Skip

The free rubbish skip will be visiting Broxted for the weekend 7th/8th September, when it will be sited in the field entrance next to Chestnuts. This skip is for household rubbish only and fridges, freezers, televisions, oil and car batteries must not be placed in it. Please do not continue to add rubbish to the skip when it is full, and do not leave additional rubbish on the ground around it. There is a real danger that this facility will be withdrawn if it continues to be abused. Remember, Uttlesford will always collect bulky household items free of charge. It only takes a phone call (01799 510510) and they usually turn up within 48 hours.

Meeting

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Wednesday 11th September in the Village Hall at 8.00 pm. Residents are always welcome to attend these meetings; the Council welcomes their comments and suggestions.

Web Site

The Magazine Editor comments that visits to this excellent web site set up by Clive Rixson should not be confined to airport matters! Well done Clive.
