Coronavirus - don’t cope on your own

If you find yourself having to self‐isolate because of the coronavirus, there is a team of people in the village who have offered to help in any way they can – going to the shops, dog walking, picking up prescriptions, anything needed.

It may just be that you are fed up of being on your own and want to chat to someone over the phone or via video call.

In the first instance, call any of the following to let them know your situation and they will ensure that you get what you need:

Roger Clark
01279 850638
Sarah Cousins
01279 850887
Lesley Holt
07919 216833
Rachel Kesterton
01279 850047

People are keen to help, so please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Broxted Village Hall

Broxted Village Hall started life as a World War I army hut and was brought to the village in the 1930s. Since then it has served as the centre of village activities for over 80 years.

The Parish Council took over the sole trusteeship of the Village Hall charity in 2007.

Since 2012 the hall has been extensively refurbished, thanks to grants from a number of sources including Uttlesford District Council and the Big Lottery Awards for All fund. The exterior has been completely re-clad, the interior modernised and re-decorated and a new ladies toilet constructed.

The main hall, measuring 15m x 8m, is ideal for parties, dances, sales and other events. It comfortably seats 100 at tables and 150 ‘cinema’ style. A small stage complements many activities. The well equipped kitchen has crockery and cutlery for 100 servings.

To have a look at the hall, or to enquire about a booking, please contact Phyllis or Roger Clark, on 01279 850638 or broxtedvillagehall@gmail.com
